Palo Santo Stick

This is my favourite go-to herb for energy clearing!

Palo santo dates back to the Inca era. It is a mystical tree that grows in South American rainforests of Galapagos Islands, Ecuador and Peru. In Spanish, the name means “Holy Wood”.  It belongs to the same family as frankincense and myrrh and has sweet notes of pine, mint and lemon.

Palo Santo has a heavenly presence in keeping energies grounded and clear with its uplifting and refreshing scent. Similar to Sage and Cedar, palo Santo is an ancient tool for clearing space and releasing negative energy.

Palo santo provides an aromatic, sweet smell and can also be used to ward off mosquitos and other insects. The wood can be snuffed and relit, whereas, once sage begins to burn, it will often continue to burn completely. Palo Santo lore says it enhances creativity and brings good fortune to those who are open to its magic.

The best part of this magical tree is that it is wild crafted and sustainably harvested. Peruvians collect fallen branches and twigs of the Palo Santo tree, a practice that is regulated by the government of Peru, so trees are not cut for wood harvesting.
